Saddle Fitting Service OUR QUALIFIED SADDLE FITTER CAN MEET WITH YOU ON PREMISE OR TRAVEL TO YOU & YOUR HORSE FOR A COMPREHENSIVE UNBIASED FITTING & CONSULTATION. Although there is a lot of information regarding saddle fitting on websites, in magazine articles and books (some of it conflicting), this site does not contain advice on saddle fitting guidelines because most cases are too individual to conform with generalized principles. Kyrena will carefully evaluate his back for symmetry and for sore spots, and take tracings that will provide a record of his back shape at rest on that particular day, and help determine the most suitable tree type, tree width, panel shape and depth for his back. In the course of this evaluation, we encourage you to learn as much as possible about your horse's particular conformation and about the principles of correct saddle fit. Kyrena sees many horses through referrals from vets, physiotherapists and chiropractors. Often these are horses with long term or ongoing problems. These horses need owners, health professionals, trainers and a saddle fitter who will work together as a team to maximize their performance and maintain their welfare. A typical appointment takes about 1 - 2 hours and includes a notated history of rider, saddle and horse, wither and topline templates, saddle fit evaluation and riding the horse if applicable. Horses should be sound and able to be saddled. Let us know what type of appointment you need i.e.. evaluation of current saddle or a new saddle, where you are located, how many horses and saddles will be looked at, how many people are interested (if for group) and when you would like the appointment. Also a brief history describing your and your horses needs or problems. These demonstrations will be designed to enlighten concerned horse owners about the complexity of saddle fitting and to give them a basic understanding of the mechanics of a horse working under saddle.
